Collaboration Board
Work on the same Zekazi whiteboard with other people, see active collaborators, follow changes as they happen, and use optional voice when a live conversation helps. Collaboration Board is designed for focused visual sessions such as brainstorming, planning, teaching, reviews, and team problem solving.
One shared space for the work
A collaboration board turns a regular Zekazi board into a protected shared workspace. Instead of sending screenshots back and forth, collaborators can work from the same board and keep the visual context in one place.
The board can contain the same core Zekazi content you already use, including drawings, text, notes, checklists, shapes, frames, tables, layouts, components, icons, and supported AI-created objects.
Current free collaboration rules
A live collaboration session lasts up to 20 minutes, supports up to 5 people total including the owner, and can be started up to 3 times in each seven-day period.
The timer does not start when the owner creates an invite. It starts when the first invited editor successfully joins. Additional editors join the same running session and do not restart or extend the 20-minute timer.
If nobody is present and the collaboration stays inactive for 60 minutes, editor access and unused invite codes expire. The owner's board content remains available.
How a collaboration session works
Open the whiteboard you want to work on and use Share to create a collaboration invite.
Create a one-time code for one signed-in editor. An unused code expires after 60 minutes.
The first successful editor entry starts the 20-minute live collaboration session. New codes can then invite more editors up to the five-person total limit.
Authorized participants can edit the shared board and optionally use voice during the same active session.
See who is active
Zekazi shows collaboration presence directly beside the board controls. You can see participant identities, cursor positions, and recent activity such as drawing, typing, moving an item, editing a table, or using Zekazi AI.
Each live cursor carries a clear collaborator badge, so you can identify who is pointing, moving, drawing, or working in another part of the board without guessing. Presence avatars also give the session a quick view of who is currently active.
Voice stays beside the board
Voice lets authorized participants talk while they work on the same board. It is an optional part of the live collaboration session, not a separate meeting or separately metered session.
Before the first editor joins, the microphone control can show that voice is waiting for collaboration to start. Once the live session begins, each participant can choose whether to grant microphone permission and join voice. Microphones remain under each user's control.
The same collaboration limits apply whether voice is used or not: up to 20 minutes per session, up to 5 people total, and up to 3 free sessions in each seven-day period.
Changes stay closely synchronized
Shared boards exchange updates frequently so collaborators can follow remote changes without manually refreshing the page. Zekazi pauses synchronization during an active gesture when needed, then resumes after the interaction settles so drawing and object manipulation remain responsive.
The collaboration system also tracks board revisions. If multiple people change the board at nearly the same time, Zekazi attempts to combine compatible changes instead of silently replacing one person's work.
Access and invitations
Collaboration uses authenticated Zekazi accounts and board membership checks. A collaborator joins through a valid invitation, and access remains scoped to that shared board.
Each collaboration code is intended for one signed-in editor. A successfully redeemed code cannot be reused, and an unused code expires after 60 minutes. To add another editor, the owner creates a new code.
Voice access is tied to the collaboration board. A person must already have authorized access to the shared board before Zekazi can issue voice access for that session.
Good ways to use Collaboration Board
Collect ideas, group them visually, discuss them by voice when useful, and turn scattered thinking into a shared direction.
Explain concepts with drawings, diagrams, notes, and live visual examples while the learner follows the same board.
Review a workflow, project plan, interface concept, or strategy together and update the board during the discussion.
Map a problem, compare options, annotate evidence, and leave the session with one visible record of the reasoning.
Keep sessions focused
Collaboration works best when the board has a clear purpose. Name the problem, organize the working area before the session, and use frames or sections when multiple topics need to stay separate.
Avoid editing the same object at exactly the same moment when possible. Use separate notes, frames, or regions for parallel work, then bring the results together for review.
Privacy and security
Shared board routes are protected by authentication and membership checks. Collaboration data is handled as workspace data, and access is scoped to the board and authorized participants rather than exposing the board publicly by default.
Voice requires microphone permission and uses realtime communications infrastructure to carry live audio between authorized participants. Zekazi may keep limited session information needed to operate access and usage rules, including board and session timing information.
Do not place passwords, private keys, payment credentials, highly sensitive personal information, or secrets on a collaboration board. A whiteboard is a working surface, not a secrets manager.
What Collaboration Board is not
Collaboration Board is not a public social room, a permanent conference service, or a replacement for dedicated document version control. It is a focused shared whiteboard experience built around visual work.
The current published free limits are 20 minutes per live session, 5 people total, and 3 sessions per seven-day period. If Zekazi changes these limits, the product interface and public documentation should be updated to match.
